Contacting WhatsApp Support Safely
The only safe ways to reach WhatsApp support are inside the app and on its official website. How to use them, what real support looks like, and the fake helpers to avoid.

When your account is in trouble, it is natural to search for "WhatsApp customer care". Scammers know this. Fake helplines, social media "agents" and recovery services wait for exactly that search.
The safe routes
- In the app: Settings, then Help (or Help and feedback), then Contact us.
- On the web: the WhatsApp Help Center at faq.whatsapp.com, which has a contact form.
WhatsApp states that these are the only ways to contact its support.
What real WhatsApp support never does
- Ask for your six-digit code or two-step PIN.
- Ask for payment, gift cards or card details.
- Message you from an ordinary number with no verified label.
- Offer to "unban" or "recover" accounts for a fee.
Beware social media helpers. Accounts that reply to your complaint on social media offering to fix WhatsApp are almost always scammers. See fake WhatsApp support messages and fake customer care numbers.
What to include when you contact support
- Your phone number in full international format, with country code.
- A clear description: hacked, banned, lost phone, or scam report.
- When it started and what you have already tried.
Lost or stolen phone
Ask your network to lock the SIM, then follow WhatsApp's lost or stolen phone steps. Getting a replacement SIM with the same number and registering WhatsApp on a new phone is the quickest way back. See stolen phone: protecting your accounts.

Yes. Lock your SIM with your network and follow WhatsApp's lost or stolen phone guidance on its help centre.
